Co-owner of an online guitar parts business, most of Jessica’s creativity and energy has been directed at her work for the last decade. In November of 2011, she was encouraged by a friend to pickup up art again after a beer soaked philosophical art and music discussion. Two months after getting her chalks and paints out she had created over 100 pieces, proving to herself she still had the passion for art and certainly the “crazy” for it Inspired by whimsical characters and vibrant colors Jessica looks at art as a way to make people laugh and question. Often her favorite subject matter can be linked to her business. An avid guitar collector and music appreciator she displays this love through her pieces. She encourages feathered friends and furry cuties to play guitar on the moon and float through the sky on fiddles and banjos. Having the need and drive to make art again has been a complicated change for her. She describes it as scary, exciting and sometimes primal with a rush at the completion of each piece Jessica is a Zanesville native and Ohio University graduate that now resides on Buckeye Lake. She is currently a member of the Ohio Art League and Art-Party Columbus. While her business consumes a great portion of her day she is currently looking to art for joy and community and has been especially inspired by her hometown Zanesville artisans. The Events room at Weasel Boy also serves as our art gallery and proudly displays a revolving show of local and regional artists. Each artist’s works hang for two months and shows run January/February, March/April, May/June, July/August, September/October and November/December. We host an opening to introduce each new artist on the first Thursday of their show which features finger foods and live music.
